The objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the role and impact of the Black church in African American communities. The book examines the historical development, social functions, and cultural significance of the Black church, highlighting how it has served as a source of spiritual strength, social cohesion, and political activism for African Americans. It also explores how the civil rights movement led to the splitting of the traditional Black church.
